BMI Calculator for Wegovy Eligibility in Kuwait
Your body mass index (BMI) is one of the first numbers a doctor uses when deciding whether Wegovy may be appropriate for weight management.
If you are in Kuwait researching Wegovy eligibility, here is the quick rule:
- A BMI of 30 or higher is the usual threshold for obesity treatment.
- A BMI of 27 or higher may qualify if you also have a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnea, or type 2 diabetes.
How to calculate BMI
Use this formula:
BMI = weight in kilograms / (height in meters × height in meters)
Example:
- If you weigh 95 kg and your height is 1.70 m, your BMI is
95 / (1.70 × 1.70) = 32.9.
BMI categories
- Under 18.5: underweight
- 18.5 to 24.9: healthy weight
- 25.0 to 29.9: overweight
- 30.0 to 34.9: obesity class 1
- 35.0 to 39.9: obesity class 2
- 40 or higher: obesity class 3
BMI is a screening tool, not a diagnosis
BMI is useful, but it is not the whole picture. Your doctor also looks at waist size, blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, liver health, sleep apnea, joint pain, and previous weight-loss attempts.
